About the program

When caring for sick and injured children, nothing helps to calm fears more than a soft cuddly friend.

The Impact:

"We were called to a 4-year old girl with a mild allergic reaction. After giving her a bear, mom requested we all sign it so that her daughter could always remember the nice people who comforted her in a crisis." Capt. Lori Voelker

"I gave one to a young girl who had just lost her father. It was very emotional and touching to see her hugging the bear while crying in her mothers arms." Battalion Chief Mike Woolery

"I was treating a young child after a seizure. She was not responding as well as we would have liked. Mom knew things weren't quite right and was worried. After giving this child a stuffed animal, her eyes immediately began to track the animal without deviating. That brought comfort to Mom. Kids really love the animals." Kellie Moulin, MICT
