| Brad Mason holds the position of Division Chief of Special Operations. He is responsible for EMS emergency planning for Med-Act and for Johnson County Government. These plans include Mass Casualty, Mass Fatality, Incident Management, Hazardous Materials, and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) incidents. Chief Mason oversees all Special Operations activities and training. The Special Operations Division consists of the Emergency Operations Team, the Disaster Response Team, the Hazardous Material Medical Support Team, the Bike Medic Team, the Tactical Medic Team, and the Critical Care Transfer Team. Chief Mason has been involved with all aspects of special operations before the division was named special operations. He was an original member and developer of the Disaster Response Team, the Emergency Operations Team, and the Hazardous Materials Medical Support Team. Chief Mason has been with Med-Act since 1984, and was a volunteer fire officer for 12 years. Presently, he is a member of the Mid America Regional Council Emergency Rescue (MARCER) Committee and the Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee, and participates in local and regional emergency services groups and associations.
